Training Course Information

Our courses are taught using the Ottawa Paramedic Service First Aid Programs which are WSIB approved. All of our courses are taught by knowledgeable instructors who have extensive experience in both teaching and first response. Our instructors backgrounds range from lifeguards, to firefighters and Paramedics. Our instructors will ensure that you leave feeling confident in your newly learnt skills by providing an entertaining and relaxing environment for training.

Ontario Workplaces: Emergency First Aid & CPR or Standard First Aid & CPR (relative to number of employees)
Child Care Worker: Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
Dental Offices: CPR Level C (Level HCP recommended)
Nursing Home Worker: CPR Level C (Level HCP recommended)
Personal Support Worker: Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
Personal Trainer: CPR Level A (Level C recommended)

Automated External Defibrillator Certification (AED)

PRICE:   $22.50
This course is designed for people who want to learn how to use the Automated External Defibrillator. Ideal for those who have just purchased or are looking to purchase an AED unit. We train using the Zoll AED Plus model and the Philips AED Heart Start model.

THIS COURSE COVERS:

  • How to manage an emergency situation
  • Review adult CPR procedures
  • How to use an Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
  • Complications (special situations) that can occur when using an AED

2 Hours – Half Day

CPR Level “A” & AED

PRICE:   $30.00
This course is designed for people who want to learn an important life-saving skill. This course will not only teach how to do CPR, but also to recognize when to call 911. This course is designed for people who want to be prepared to be a helpful bystander in the event of witnessing an emergency. This course focuses on dealing with adults only.

THIS COURSE COVERS:

  • How to manage an emergency situation
  • How to perform assess an injured person
  • Adult CPR Procedures (Using the new 2015 standards)
  • Adult Choking Procedures (Using the new 2015 standards)
  • How to use an Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
  • Learn how to recognize and treat someone suffering from a heart attack, angina, and stroke

CPR Level “C” & AED

This course is designed for people who want to learn an important life-saving skill. This course will not only teach how to do CPR, but also to recognize when to call 911. This course is mandatory for people who work in the fitness field. Definitely a skill that can relate to all environments.

Health Care Provider (HCP) CPR Level “C” + AED

This course is designed for people who work (or will be working) in the health care field such as nurses, doctors, paramedics, first responders, etc. This course covers CPR “C” /AED using the protocols and equipment that are specific to health care providers.

Oxygen Administration and Therapy Course

PRICE:   $45.50
This course is designed for people who want to learn how and when to administer oxygen therapy. This is an advanced training geared for those who have already taken first aid and are looking to advance their skills. Ideal for lifeguards, first responders, nurses, etc. Get hands on training with the oxygen tank, regulator, and learn how to use the delivery devices that attach to the tank BVM, non-rebreather mask, pocket mask, etc).

THIS COURSE COVERS:

  • How and when to use oxygen in an emergency
  • How to assemble an oxygen tank and regulator
  • Equipment used with oxygen (Bag Valve Mask, non-rebreather mask, pocket mask)
  • Flow rates for oxygen administration (LPM)
  • Learn how to recognize and treat respiratory emergencies

4 Hours – Half Day

Basic First Aid, CPR Level “C” and Certification

This course is designed for small workplaces, childcare workers, and people who want to have a basic knowledge in first aid along with attaining a full CPR “C”/AED certification.

Emergency First Aid Course and CPR “C” + AED

PRICE:   $75.00
This course is designed for people who work in a workplace where there are less that 6 people on shift working directly with each other. This course is ideal for security staff, people working in the hospitality industry, contract workers, small offices, etc. Emergency First Aid covers the most common types of injuries and medical conditions, which will leave participants comfortable with how to handle an emergency situation, bandaging, splinting, as well as recognizing and treating common medical conditions. All participants will also receive a full CPR Level “C” and AED Certification.

  • How to perform a Primary Assessment
  • Adult, Child and Infant CPR Procedures (Using the new 2015 standards)
  • Adult, Child and Infant Choking Procedures (Using the new 2015 standards)

Standard First Aid Re-certification

PRICE:   $75.00
This course is designed for people who need to renew their Standard First Aid Certification. In order to take this course you must possess a valid Standard First Aid certification. This course covers the same information as the full standard first aid course but in a condensed version.

  • Review how to perform a Primary and Secondary Assessment
  • Adult, Child and Infant CPR Procedures (Using the new 2015 standards)
  • Adult, Child and Infant Choking Procedures (Using the new 2015 standards)

Standard First Aid, CPR “C” + AED

PRICE:   $122.00
Standard First Aid is designed for workplaces with more than 6 employees on shift at a location. This is a comprehensive course which covers the treatment of a variety of injuries and illnesses that a worker can end up dealing with on the job. As with all of our courses it comes with a full CPR level “C” and AED certification.

This course is required by all childcare workers, larger offices, larger construction sites, etc.

THIS COURSE COVERS:

  • How to manage an emergency situation
  • How to assess and injured person and understand when 911 is required
